About Us

Fricks Butane Gas Company was established in 1935 by Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Fricks.  Butane was just beginning to be used for homes, businesses and ASA motor fuel. The business office was located on West Broad Street in Texarkana and was called Fricks Electric and Butane.  C.C. Fricks was an electrician and added butane gas sales as well as gas appliance sales to the electric business.  The business moved to East 9th Street in the late 1940s and then to its present location in 1956.  The third generation of family (Clay Fricks, Glenn Fricks, and, up until his death, Jay Fricks) now runs the business.  Fricks Butane Gas Company has been in business for over 80 years.

The same business principles that Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Fricks established in 1935 still prevail today- provide exceptional and friendly service, top quality products, and support to our customers at the lowest price possible.  We still have customers who have been doing business with us for over 50 years!  We are currently one of two independent propane dealers in the Texarkana area.
